Questions:
1. Is a helmet required for these type of events at Cordova?
2. What are the most important facts for a drag racing newbie to know?
3. Is Cordova 1/4 mile or 1,000 ft?

1) 13.99 or quicker requires a helmet. (you can rent one at the track for 5.00) 2) don't worry about 'reaction time' and focus on getting a smooth launch and shifts. 3) 1/4 mile... 632ft elevation.

UPDATE: We have one charcoal grill being donated for this. I will also be stealing hamburger and hot dog buns from work. So if you guys bring some meat, we can grill it up. We could also use atleast one more grill. If somebody wants to donate some beverages that would be great too.

Drive the TB to Kentucky, then if that breaks you still have the car for track day The interest for this has really tanked. This is happening with or without you guys, so you may as well succumb to it and pay up.

Quick question, Can you pay at the gate or no, I am down for doing it but right now my trans is feeling a little wierd and if it goes out I am putting the car away for the year to start my project but if it holds I would love to go see what it runs before I do all the work. Let me know if thats ok.

ok nevermind just read through the post and seen your not excepting money at the gate. Lat time we did a track rental we exceptd money at the gate and i think it would work in your favor if you were to do so. I know I brought 5 people that payed at that gate that day.

As to a response to 94venomv8 and everybody that is signed up but has not paid yet.....
We are currently $275 short of the full $1500 to pay for the track. If we don't get the other $275 then that will come out of our pockets like the $500 deposit did. I would rather not be on the hook for $800 for this. However I realized this was a possibility when getting this started, so I am not angry.
With that said, when you pay up front that helps us out a lot. It makes us feel a bit more secure that we aren't going to get stuck with the majority of the bill for this. So if you can, please pay up front.

So you will be excepting them at the gate and would rather get paid up front or your not excepting at the gate at all?

Sure, you can pay at the gate. I will try and have somebody there to take your payment. Because when noon rolls around I will be racing.

I see we were kinda painted into a corner about the pay at the gate thing. Our intention was always to accept payment at the gate if necessary, but we didn't wanna put it out there as an option so soon simply because I am afraid that we are not going to receive anymore payments ahead of time. So anyone out there that can pay ahead of time, it will be appreciated beyond belief. It just helps ease us a little bit. But yes, if it comes down 2 it we will accept payment at the gate.

i have been involved with the october track rental for close to 20yrs now and that one has always been pay in advance. i do several motorcycle track rentals and the one that has been pay at the gate is now pay in advance for next year. $35 is the cheapest track rental i've seen in alot of years.

How much to watch?

Post by blackpala96 on Jul 29, 2009 9:13:19 GMT -6
Thanks for the payment.
Spectators are free to watch.
With that said, I will have someone positioned at the door with a list of user names. As you come in they will mark you off. This will also help with people just coming to watch and people paying at the gate.

I realize with the opening of the "pay at the door" choice this puts us in a place we didn't want 2 b. Is any1 else planning on paying soon? Can u guys that still need 2 pay let us know either that u will b paying soon or if you will b paying at the door? Atleast that will ease us a bit. Thanks guys.
