OK, I'm in. I hope to arrive around 10:00 - any problem getting in and teched around then?
Since this is my first time down the track, is anyone willing to give me some tips before I screw everything up?

pull into staging lanes, wait till they send you to the line, do a burnout, then stage
staging: there are 2 small yellow lights on top of tree, slowly roll into the beams till both small bulbs are lit, then wait for the tree to light up, on green....Floor it
most of the people on this forum are very friendly, ask anyone if your unsure about anything, we all started at some point too.

You can come up to the starting line & watch people run to get a feel for what's going on, it's pretty easy really. You'll have a great time. Just watch the tree like said above, the staging lights will put you in the right place.

I had a great time at my first experience on the quarter-mile. Thanks to everyone who helped me with advice. I'm getting a little more transmission noise on the SSR now, but I expected some wear.
I can already see how addicting that trying to find just one more tenth of a second can be.

What did the SSR end up running?

The SSR's best time was 13.339. Respectable for a truck with an automatic trans, but I'm getting the fever for chopping off a few more tenths.
