Yeah I just saw that. Sad day. He did live a long in full life even if that majority of it was under the yoke of communism.

Amazing that he was behind that and wasn't able to see the rewards... I would have thought he would be rich.

woulda went out and rattled mine in his honor but i'm a fair weather shooter
thought it was cool he said he never lost sleep knowing his invention cost so many lives. that part is on the politicians who couldn't settle their problems without war

Yeah he was an interesting individual. He was a Red Army pensioner that didn't make anything off his creation so he had to rely on speaking gigs and public appearances to bolster his income. He would tell the NRA it was good that the US has so many firearms and the Brady campaign that his weapons didn't belong in the hands of civilians. Hard to get a read on what the guy really thought. Although he was a pretty committed Soviet so I probably don't want to know.
