Anyone work with boiler systems? I have a hot water heat system in the house (if any of my terminology is wrong I apologize, please correct me). I would like to run a new pipe to the back porch to heat it but I have never worked on anything like this before. I assume you need to drain the system to run new pipe and it all looks to be copper so I'm guessing it's expensive and likely needs to be soldered somehow?
I'm not looking to do anything right now but I would love to do something with it by next winter.

Yeah... In the basement the pipe that runs from the pump to the other baseboards downstairs has a capped off T and I would like to see if its possible to run another pipe about 6 feet over to the back porch and put in a small baseboard to get heat back there. Ill take some pictures tonight and post them up so you can see what I am talking about.

as long as you have a return i wouldnt see why not. may want to put a seperate zone on it or at least a ball valve to regulate the heat so if your basment is a warmer area you dont overheat it.
