A big thank you to Jake from Fuel and Air Racing... took the car to Bert Motorsports to hit the dyno Saturday. Unfortunately it was a very bad morning for me but at least I know the car desperately needs a tune. The AFR was too lean the first pull and Jake made a quick change to bring it in line... numbers were terrible with peak timing around 25.5. I'm glad we found the issue on the dyno before I ended up with some poor track results and/or a popped motor. I left everything at the shop by mistake so I don't have the sheets... from the video you can see the STD numbers were horrible and the SAE numbers were about 5 less. For reference the car made 324rwhp/341rwtrq at Illinois Dyno center with only FRA (all else stock)... I know they have been said to put out high numbers but this is a 224x dynojet so it's not like comparing mustang dyno numbers or anything so I would expect the car to see at least 365, everyone else seems to be making 370-380 with similar mods. Will be working with Jake to hopefully sort out out the issues and hit the dyno again.
My friend also had his 2007 Charger there with a procharged setup (only other mods are a catback). He made 480/490 iirc...

Last time he was running 12.2 @ 115 iirc (DA was like 3000ft).. Not sure if he is the one you saw or not but he was there a couple times this year.

My 2002 Z/28 M6 made 327 rwhp at IDC and went 12.90@109 mph. I think they only got screwy when they were tuning it. If your car runs well at the track I wouldn't sweat the dyno numbers. You are going to have put a tire on it though to get any meaningful baseline.

How much does it cost for a few pulls?

However, I think it will make the power he is looking for when the tune is right. At the moment, it would not fair well at the track. Before I adjusted power enrichment it was seeing 15:1 AFR at WOT..... I made a quick adjustment to get it down to a safe area, which I thought my first guess would have way overshot. However, it was still sitting at 13.2:1 AFR after my adjustments. When the weather turns we'll set it straight and I think it will run the number at the track and meet his power goals. On a side note, timing was also very conservative throughout much of the curve. Lastly, the dyno is just a tool. The numbers it generates are only really a idea of whether or not tuning adjustments are having the desired affect. Slips are the true measure of performance.

True, when I made the 324rwhp at IDC I trapped 109.3mph so I agree it didn't seem to be far off or even high really (Compare to MM&FF where they trapped 108.71 and made 321rwhp on their dyno) Now I do realize a dyno is just a tool...however similar dynes should put out similar numbers and when the average is much much higher than you see on the same brand/model dyno along with some other items that seem suspect it becomes obvious there is something wrong. FWIW after the cam swap itself (still on stock tune but also adding a lid/fra over my 13.1 @ 108 on a 2.1 60ft it did bone stock) the car managed a 12.8 @ 110 on a 2.0 60ft (first time was -127ft and the second was in 98ft air) which in retrospect even with the stock limiter I would have expected a minor change in trap speed over the stock cam. I'm guessing this has been an issue the entire time. Just frustrated now...I have almost a dozen examples of similar setups making almost 50rwhp more power and going low 12s with 115ish traps... at this point the car doesn't have that in it. Look forward to sorting out the tune and getting it back on the rollers to make sure everything looks ok before I flog it on the track for a dozen plus passes and come up disappointed. As the car sits I have zero issues getting traction at Cordova on all seasons which is probably another sign its not making much power wise.

Robert - Did your friend make it home OK? I'd imagine it was quite the white knuckle ride.

Yeah. He took it slow... I'm not sure how to be honest.

Yeah. He took it slow... I'm not sure how to be honest. Good deal. Myself, and I think everyone else, was at least a little afraid for him. Ha.

I dunno I have seen some wildly differing dyno results over the years only to see negligible performance differences with driver skill being the same. I would do what you can to get the car decently tuned and then flog the shit out of it at the track. You need a tire though. I think you stated before at some point that you had always run on regular radials. It can't be stated enough now much even a Nitto will help you realize your goal.
