sorry to get back on topic... but here is an example of Abrahams work: they hot tanked and glass blasted the heads, LIM and plenum for $50. everything turned out perfect. ;D

The parts are cleaned up nice, are you building a show y body or somthing? They did do a nice job on those but to play the devils advocate that does not really show me anything about the quality of machine work. What about cleaning up the side cover Is it metal at all? It looks kind of rusty with paint... Whats the project looks interesting. It looks to be a newer 3400 I hate doing intake manifold gaskets on those things...

Yah, it's a 2002 3400 SFI. the timing cover was wire brushed before i painted it (it's aluminium), it just looks like that becuae of the angle. the pullies are rusty but that'll get cleaned off before the engine ever runs. it's been fully ported and polished by myself, (heads, LIM and plenum), as of right now it's got the stock cam, but i'm thinking about getting it reground to be a little more agressive. I've also built a set of 1 1/2" primary headers for it. There will be other work too, i have a set of LS1 springs and i might also switch to the new 3500 plenum. It's going in this car: Should be good for mid to high 13's considering the car only weighs like 2800 lbs. ;D

Thanks We'll see here in about 2 months... If i can get the thing to hook up i'll be good to go... i've cut some 2.09 60' s on the engine that's in it now (mild 3.1) and turned some high 15's with it. the 3.1 has no top end power what so ever, evan a good port job didn't help it. the 138K miles probably dosen't really help either.. lol going from 140 crank HP to 260 crank HP should make it an interresting car to drive.. hehe

I think it's a cool, "dare to be different" kinda project. Hope to check it out in person someday when its done, especially if it runs the number. A 13 second Cav, sounds like a 12 second Cav on spray to me. =)

I have heard god things about stealys and American speed. Now pricing at american speed and Stealys has much to be desired but we will stay away from that. After a lot of research and estimates I think I have decided to order a golen shortblock.
Who is this Dan @ thumper?? Someone PM me their info.
