I didn't run. Probably wont till I'm ready to drop mega money into the weak ass transmission that comes on the WRX. Sinful didn't run because he wasn't able to tune the car due to a dyno problem, and I'm not sure if Demon ever did run either. Last I remember, I saw him with an oil bottle in his hand and heard something about an oil light come on. Trent trapped 116 in his Vette. I made an attempt to catch it on video for him, but it turned into a blur fest due to the dark. Yep, my "Low Oil Level" light popped up on my DIC. I wasn't planning on running anyway, but definitely not after that. It was about a quart low. Damn 01's have a lot of blowby and burn oil. Really? I never knew they had oil consumption issues. LS1 Fbodies on the other hand are notorious for it (Damn LS1 PCV). Hence, why I have a whole different motor. lol

He wasn't the one tuning it if I remember correctly, it was IDC that was supposed to but had a problem. Ahh! Makes sense.

I was down there at this event with a few friends from Dubuque. Ran into Brian at the check-in but didn't see him again. Steve was also there apparently with him, but didn't see him either. Place was fucking packed for being just Midnight Mayhem. Sinful7 - Sorry for sounding like such a n00b when I talked to you about the car. I caught you when you were getting ready to leave. I was the one that asked you if you still had the 13B-REW in the car because I didn't look through the slats in the hood. Nice car though, wish I could have seen it run. It was an alright time and there were some decent cars down there. There were also some pretty lame ones too. lol There were tons of diesel trucks running too. Saw the RB26 Z32 down there and a couple of built Evo's. Tons of Mustangs and F-bodies too. The lights were pretty much fucked for the night, none of my friends got a decent stage the whole night. If you rolled up to the line and went slightly past the pre-stage and needed to reverse back to be staged you got red-lighted which didn't make sense. The tree was pretty whack too, you had no time to even get ready to launch unless the person behind you was doing a big burnout for a while.

^^^ Thats the way it generally is. They get tired of the people rolling past all the time, so as soon as you're lit up, they generally punch the button.
If you want a decent stage, go to friday fun nights, not midnight mayhem. By then the guys running it don't give a shit at all.

Yea, the problem was that I took 3 friends down with with their cars that had never run at a track before. Essentially everything they learned about the tree is out the window since it's going to be different next time they go. But yea, as soon as you even hit the pre-stage they were going. My friend red-lighted twice because they started the tree before he was even staged. Really sucks for people running turbo cars because they don't get a chance to get the car set for a decent launch. Only people that got a chance were the ones who rolled up to the line while the other person was burning out. Also, IIRC, the timer doesn't start until you actually move, but for some reason it seemed as soon as the lights started the timer started. They also weren't giving everyone the full sheets for the run, they were printing them and ripping them in half, so you could even see how the other car compared to yours. Pretty weak for 20 bucks.

Thats how it always is. MM is more tuned for the street racing crowd that wants to do it without getting a ticket, more or less. It's been this way for as long as I can remember. Instant greens to simulate stop lights and all that crap. Generally I don't care what the car next to me ran unless it was a buddy, so I was never worried about that. But yeah, if you're looking to actually "drag race" like it's meant to be at the track, friday fun nights are your best bet. They prep the tracks better, and do it like it's supposed to be. And all they have to learn about the tree for a normal drag event is go on the last yellow.

Really? I never knew they had oil consumption issues. LS1 Fbodies on the other hand are notorious for it (Damn LS1 PCV). Hence, why I have a whole different motor. lol A LOT of 01' z06's did with the early LS6 motors before they made a lot of changes to the 02-04's version of the LS6. GM had a recall on it. You could find oil in the intake and they would replace the rings if it got bad enough. I don't think my car would qualify for it still.

Can't you use something like a catch can to try and cut down on the amount of blow by? I know turbo cars usually have to to try and cut down on it. I'm thinking about getting one for mine. Someone made a pretty cool one for the subie, so the oil goes right back into the oil spout.

Definitely, there are a ton of Corvette vendors that carry them. I plan on getting one, as everyone on thr Vette forums say they work really well. I've just been spending my dough elsewhere and haven't been able to get it done yet.
