Just curious, are you having problems with oil in the intake? Or are you just buying more parts to put in storage

Well notice a little yellowish scum on the oil cap, and a mist when i take the cap off, its not awful were the motor needs tore down or anything...assuming a catch can catches condensation?
I drive a mile to work, so the truck sitz 8-10 hrs, and i dont think thats really good for it either

Running synthetic? BMWs are pretty bad about yellow buildup on oil cap with short trip drivers. We flush with conventional, fill it up run 3-5 minutes at 2500-3000 rpm (til nice & warm), then open oil cap to vapor out. Repeat and then drain while boiling hot. Refill with synthetic.

My Furd does the same thing. It never gets driven and when it does it's to take my daughter to gymnastics about a mile from the house. I use the Motorcraft semi-synthetic 5W-20 and change the oil every 3-4k. I notice a yellow haze under the cap but its nothing concerning. I've seen a lot worse.

A catch can or moisture separator won' t do crap for water vapor. They will only separate liquid water.
Industrially a desiccant breather is used to adsorb moisture from a oil sump.

Mileage on the motor doesnt have anything to do with the yellow buildup. It is short trip driving allowing moisture buildup in the synthetic oil.
