I need help bad. I have a tci stall and on the ears or the stall where the bolts go thou the threads r stripped from when we toke the motor and tranny. apart. I was thinking about tapping new treads or trying to save the old ones. Did anyone have this problem or answer or somthing help!!!!

try to save the old ones and/or run a long enough bolt to go through the ears and use locknuts on the other side

Yeah, when i had my stall problems... My dad taught me to just let the clutch out slower and drop in a little more gas on the backside.

thats what i suggested meanyellowz. all 3 boltholes are shot though, 2 of them look like fine thread, and the other has had a coarse thread bolt put through it. theres only 3/16 between the hole and the edge of the ear, i think making the hole any larger might weaken the ear. the bolt threads were damaged pretty bad also. if we put lock nuts on the backside, thats all that will be holding it in. i think he may need a new stall, i do know im not pushing his ass around in a wheelchair if this one lets go. ;D

Put a heli-coil in the threads.

retap the threads, drill out the flywheel to match the tap...that's the only thing I can think of. Those ears are strong, I would be shocked if tapping threads would weaken them any.

Well it's solved. I used a lil bigger bolt and lock washer, reg. washer, and lock tight.

Not weirth the risk of breaking bell housing or flexplate,I'd replace it, a stall is cheap compared to a new trans or engine
