On one of the local Missouri forums I'm a part of, we started having a little weekly gathering at a fast food place, just to have some people out and possibly attract new members and get out a bit.
If there is a place with a decent amount of parking space that wouldn't mind people hanging out for a few hours, it would help. I know there's a lot of you that know each other well, from what it seems like, a bit too well lol, but putting some faces to names for others would be nice as well, maybe get a few runs in from time to time.
Obviously, it might get the wrong kind of attention, unwanted idiots, etc, but from how much it really picked up in Missouri and how many people kept everything legitimately "cool" without the drama b/s and ricers, it could bring in a lot more activity to this site.
Wednesday nights work? A lot of people are busy during the weekend, and if we did something like 6:30-9:00, it wouldn't be too bad for people getting off work. Doesn't have to be a full out everyone plan shit out, just a meet and greet, small talk b/s.

Man! Between being unemployed, finally no school for summer, enjoying some weighed smoking in the garage, sleeping...I just don't know when I could find the time. ;D LOL Here is a crappy cell phone pic of my antique pick-em-up that doesn't currently motate. Doesn't have to be the project car/nice car, would be nice to get a few together, but either way, it's more of a meet and greet b/s thing. An excuse to get the car out every now and then lol.

I'd be down for something like this, the tough thing is getting a business to allow the use of the lot. There is a lot of liability on their part if this ends up with younger irresponsible kids coming and doing burnouts and acting dumb...

That's the rough part about it, the people starting this, (forum members), will absolutely NEED to keep everyone from being idiots. Anyone does anything stupid will have to be asked to leave, etc. If too many dipshits come out, we'll change the spot, I don't feel like dealing with a bunch of highschool jackasses with nothing to do besides make noise and do burnouts to ruin it for the rest of us.

The best place to have meets if you don't want to be bothered and don't want other dipshits showing up is the top floor of a parking garage. The one on Harrison downton is usually empty on the top floor especially at night.

That sounds like a great idea, at the same time, being near somewhere to eat/piss/shit is always nice too. If nothing else, try to alternate every other week or so.

We have done that in the past and have gotten kicked out by the cops for hanging out up there. The way to get around that is to go up into the sky bridge but that get boring after a while.

If nothing else, I'd be more than happy to try to call the coppers ahead of time and see if we can get them to be reasonable. I don't see any problems as long as we keep it under control...I'm not scared to tell someone to stop being a douche if need be.

The problem with Big Lots "back in the day" was the trash people left behind and all the dumbshits drag racing in the parking lot and up Brady Street. Of course business owners don't want that shit going on in their lot.
We need to find a business owner someone knows and is OK with people hanging out. With that would come the responsibility to have to self police and say something to the dumbshits when they do something stupid. I would think the options are very limited without knowing a business really well.
It is unfortunate but understandable. What about Whiteys or Sonic?

True. It is right on the "loop". Visibility wouldn't be an issue. The only downside to having it at Hooters is that you'd be at Hooters...
