True. It is right on the "loop". Visibility wouldn't be an issue. The only downside to having it at Hooters is that you'd be at Hooters... Ahh the loop, we dont want that group gettting involved, I dropped by the new "hangout" for those kids last night, tons of underage drinking going on. I left asap! Where is this place you speak of? |

Good place for us Illinois boys could possibly be the old Sammy G Lanes bowling alley across from UT High School. Its right on the avenue with a nice lot and plenty of places to eat. Fields of Pizza and Rudy's tacos is right in the lot, we might see if they would work out a deal for us. KFC is right next door and Burger king is just down the street. Here's the kicker! I manage Skate City and our business owns the property. I'd have to check with the owner first and some of the businesses to be sure they would even go for it, but its a possible location. Only bad deal is it would have to be a Tuesday or a Thursday night fo sho.. Wednesdays we are open to the public during the summer and the lot gets pretty full. But Tues or Thurs the skate city lot would be completely empty for our use. Its a nice lot for a mini car show.. Here is a pic of our parking lot.  |

Count me in. I agree that the asshats would have to be kept under control. People would have to resist acting like a complete fucktard and learn how to clean up after their dirty asses. Should we manag to at least do that...I think we'll be fine.
I'd prefer NOT to meet at Hooters. But...in the end I'll go where the majority vote rules.

Cool! Sounds like we have a few people interested in the skate city location, so I'll check with the owner and see what he says. It would be a chillin spot only!! As demonz says, we will have to keep the dip shits away and the place cleaned up. Crazy burnouts or any act that brings attention to that spot is a deal breaker. I will not allow it. We have a full camera system that covers the whole lot. If he logged on the system and saw me allowing that I would lose my job.

If we could get something like this setup I would consider using my lot on the Iowa side also. Responsible, respectable people hanging out to shoot the breeze would be fine. Possibly do an every other deal back and forth between the locations for the Iowa and Illinois crowd?

That would be super cool of you Randy. So I talked to the owner and he is cool with us meeting up here and hanging out for a while on a Tues or Thurs. As long as its calm and cool. Any BS and it will never happen again.  This location is only available through labor day weekend. After that our business picks back up and the parking lot will be used 7 days a week again. Anyone ready to pick a few dates? |

Not to be a stick in the mud...but during the week? I was hoping this would be a Friday/Saturday/Sunday thing. If it's during the week, I'm out. No way I can make that happen. ;D

I figured once a week would be regular enough, but if nothing else and it gets a decent turnout, maybe do it a few nights a week. Seems like during the week nights is the most open time for most, weekend nights are a bit hazy for me lol. Either way, we'll get this going, someone make a poll for both locations and day of the week and well go from there.
I'm thinking Friday nights at that bowling alley, anyone have any objectives/better alternatives?

I'm down for a Sunday night at my location. Anytime after 4pm on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday would be fine here. Wednesday, Friday, & Saturdays are out of the question. We are open those days and the parking lot will be full of people at the front stores and at skate city.

The groups that I know that have done this in the past it has generally been on a weeknight since people are generally more open on the weekdays vs the weekends. It isn't a "big event" kind of thing, just hanging out for a couple hours during the week.
Not that a weekend couldn't work too, it's just people have stuff going on so much on the weekends it can be really hit or miss.
