Well I found this site from another site. I hit up Cordova quite a bit when I have the car. Here to show what I drive. Day I brought it home Stock engine bay Header/Intake My face palm days..... Underwent MAJOR exterior overhaul! Turbo Stage 1, Netted 225/228 on the dyno. Exterior, stage 2 That was not nearly enough power... so in went a 100% fully built motor! Turbo Setup; Stage 2; Netted 323/285 to the wheels. Scored some semi-stickies from my fabricator. New wheels to get the outside where I mostly wanted it Had to get a new hauler since my winter DD died... Stage 3, the final stage Electric Cutout 100% done exterior. 90% of the car repainted. Wilwood 12.2" Big Brake Kit Ran into a bad head issue so this had to happen Nice little bubble in the head gasket.... Head is cracked I believe as well. So I have a new LSJ head boxed up with my old L61 head being sent of to M2 Race Systems. Thats how it sits now until the head comes back. Plenty of work to do. Sits in the garage covered up. Aiming for 400hp, but MAINLY aiming for 11.500 @ 122-123 traps. Went a best of 12.6 @ 117 blowing sparks off the clutch all the way down the track. Cant wait for more!!!

Mine is not even top tier in our class. Friend of mine has a blue cav running 10.3 @ 144... The guy who did the welding and stuff for my last version of the turbo setup, which is why I have not driven the car in over a year... is now building his for a 9 second pass Still will be street legal as well. But thanks. Hope to get it done within a month and have it at Cordova. Gotta get some new times down on it!

If you get yours finished maybe we could have a little money race at the track rental assuming you do live near here

My parents live in Dixon. Im in Peoria now which is where Im at most of the time due to work. I make it back and forth quite a bit. Once its back up and running Ill be out cruising a ton more and hitting up cordova as much as I possibly can. I usually try to make the 2 MFBA rentals since you cant beat the price. Nothing like having a car that can make 400hp, run 11's, road course worthy, auto x like a son of a gun, yet STILL get 30+ mpg's

The 150 shot don't even make up weight difference. then you got worked heads, lotsa boost, cams, Your stick gives you bigger launch than my stall I do have rwd advantage tho. Be fun to see tho

Any wagon that call yank the front end that high has tq. That 150 shot is going to make up quite a bit against me.
my biggest fight is FWD, 5 spd, boost kicking in... its tough for me to keep traction down the track once the cams come into play and i fully spool. The twin disc clutch is also going to be super tricky to launch. its close to either on or off but i have to get the feel of it. Usually top of second i spin like crazy or wheel hop off the line. gotta fix that and then ill hook and go.
I still think it would be a fun race!
As for the shop.... its my dads. I built it for him, but its all his. I coudlnt do it how I do without his help. He is very much appreciated even though he might not always see it. Im very lucky!

i dont get what you mean by safe. Also, reading comprehension must be above you where I said, it would be an interesting race for sure. nowhere did I turn it down... Im game for next time we can be at the track at the same time and run. Ill spot you a few cars. Have them give me a delay in the lights to make it even. or just tell me what you run and we can base it off that

Nice!
I used to have "Just a Cavalier" as well... 91 Z24, 275WHP/259WTQ all motor but could only get a 13.07@108 out of it.
After 9 years i gave up on it and went back to RWD.. kept the same engine though.

i had an 07 cobalt ss supercharged. it was a nice car. i did alot of mods to it to get it how i wanted. it had a 2.7 pulley, 60# injectors, a tune, full 3in exhaust, lowering springs, g6 gtp wheels, etc... it was a really good car and i had lots of good times with it. i recently traded it for an 01 ram air trans am. in the end i got bored with front wheel drive. im lovin my v8 speed now! we all like to go fast and have fun, just because someone prefers rear wheel over front, or vice versa doesnt matter in the end. its all in the name of speed and fun. just my .02

Yeah I love my car. every time i think of selling it, I get that feeling of boost and being in it and realize im probably a lifer with it. Ordered a ton of parts today. some were delivered from a previous order. Head should be done by the end of the week. Everything is falling into place. Too bad its 70s this week and no car

Thanks. Good ol unibody, always makes my car 3 wheel if I jack it up.
Slight update... been fighting the head left and right. First problem was the valves from the previous engine owner used were triple groove valves, not nearly as good as a single groove. The keepers were digging into the valve stem groove and mushroomed the top of the valve. Led me to have to replace the valves, well while i was doing that I had to get a whole kit because it wasnt worth using the old springs and boring the spring seats out and all that. So an unexpected chunk later, im buying springs, keepers, guides, valves, retainers, a full valve train build. So right now im sitting and waiting for some of those pieces to fill from back order. Until then, the head sits in NY awaiting assembly.
