I watched him run pretty decent runs last time I was at the track. Hoping to get it assembled Wednesday if the head is shipped back in time. Provided it runs true, I will be making an attempt to get a hold of my tuner and get it tuned as soon as possible so I can get it to the track for some times. Also need to get it aligned. thought about replacing tie rods and some other bushings and what not in the very near future

Dustin needs to man up and put a real trans in that car. Those little 3rd gen getrags just aren't built like the HM282's from the 2nd gens.
aaronkoehler1, I'm assuming James is your brother.. tell him he should come pick up his heads. I've had them for over 3 years now.. i'm tacking on storage fees the longer they sit.

Finally got it started and running after being down for 2 years. Its been a long time coming. Still going to go over it again and clean some stuff up and make sure everything is right. I still have to get it tuned but once I do it will be going to the track and dyno for numbers!!

Guess I never post up a month and a half ago i had it running for a few hours and then the timing chain tensioner failed and i thought I bent valves..... wellllllll..... Took more than a month off from it and got motivated, dont ask me how on one of the hottest days i could have picked... but I did. As I suspected..... i went 8/8 which is 100% which is good right? Smashed all 8 intake valves Machine shop pointed this out to me! Those are cracks in the valve...... um whoops? Visible piston damage but cant feel any of it, just going to go over them softly to make sure they are smooth 100% Its at the machine shop now awaiting further diagnosis if I took guides out with it or not. Then I will order valves and get it back on as soon as I can. Fingers crossed this time!

lean back.... lean back.... Fall in line... Head is now torqued down to the car. Just need to order the chain and tensioner as well as put everything back together that attaches to the head... Wiped the front of the car down just to see it shine again and damn, i cant wait to get it in the sun! This was just a wipe with the waterless wash.

Mine is not even top tier in our class. Friend of mine has a blue cav running 10.3 @ 144... The guy who did the welding and stuff for my last version of the turbo setup, which is why I have not driven the car in over a year... is now building his for a 9 second pass Still will be street legal as well. But thanks. Hope to get it done within a month and have it at Cordova. Gotta get some new times down on it! That guy was the best man in my wedding lol. He just sold the cavalier. Here was a run against my Honda when the tps broke. Is your name vince? I met you a couple times when we came down for midnight mayhems.

gottamn! this could be the longest 12 second build in history I already run mid 12's... aiming for mid 11s this time, 400ish hp, 35mpg. It was a nice break to step away from it and not have to touch it. Almost 2 years in the works to build it up right. Minor set backs as you can see but it will be worth it in the end. Nowhere near Camron territory but it will be a spirited daily driver. Id have to put a face with your name to recognize you... its been a LONG time.

My goal is to make it to the MFBA rental Sept. 30th provided everything comes together... holds together... and I can get tuned by then.... I dont expect stellar times since I have to learn to drive the car all over again.
Ill look into it though.
