85 Mustang GT build

We all know the car it was on craigslist and here for a while.

Ive always liked four eye cars and felt this was a great place to start, i bought this car as a rust free roller with a cage and gauges in it, i had actually bought alot of the parts from it and expected to put them on my other car that was supposed to be out of the bodyshop christmas 2010

heres how i bought the car








i ended up after 4 or 5 months of trying to sell the car i decided to start building, there was alot of changed plans

starting of the build was putting the rear end and k member in it

the car has now

areospace front brakes with drilled rotors
flaming river manual rack
90/10 struts
coil over conversion
bbk caster camber plates
willwood 4 piston rear brakes
33 spline moser axels
full spool
4:30 gear
upr upper control arms
upr lower control arms
bg fuel pump
strange rear coil overs
anti roll bar

i think thats about it for suspension

here is after the build started i wish i wouldve gotten more pictures of it through the changes and headaches











didnt have access to my engine lifter as it was in my brothers garage so i had to use the next best thing


as far as motor goes

396 stroker
dss pistons
11:1 compression
heavily worked tfs cnc heads, (receipts totaled 4300)

solid roller camshaft (link bar lifters) 265in 269ex @50 679 in 689 ex 114 lobe sep
crane 1.7 roller rockers

maxwells baddest th400 with brake and reverse manual valve body

Yeah, we've been getting pretty good with it I think this is number 8 for me using it, only thing that sucks is the diesel fumes

if i ever built a ford fox body iy'd have to be a 4 eye..prefferebly a 79 4 eye hatch back with newer ground effects and spoilers...but i'm not a ford guy so that'll never happen... great project though

ieatz28 I have a 1979 hatch 4 eye with a spoiler! No ground effects though. Not much, just running a stock 2011 302.

Yeah unfortionatly this won't be done for a while, I've bought 3 sets of headers and none of them were right, wife says no more spending money on it till I sell a couple sets but I don't think they will be gone to quickly

^ talk to greg he ordered custom, or do you need to shim the motor up a little?

First set of long tubes I ordered were shorties second set of 2" long tubes were 1 5/8 last set are circle flange and I need square

Well I was kind of burned out on this thing, about two weeks ago I put a battery in to see if it had headlights ext, as soon as I put battery in started sparking I ran down the wires to make sure the right one was in the right spot, they were. So I tried it again and it actually started smoking

After thinking about just parting out the car I decided I would go out there last night and see what the deal was. Some of the stuff on the car was professionally done then a lot of it was halfass sloppy done I stripped all the wires from the car that the previous owner put in he squeezed about 15 wires through a 3/8 hole he drilled in the firewall, and didn't even put electric tape around the hole or rubber ect, sharp jagged metal found 6 wires that were supposed to be hot wires that were grounding out because of this. I pulled out pretty much all of his wiring but didn't have time to finish it completely

u still at monsanto workin? im about 5 min. from home now nice.... tired of them 12hr. days plus that 2hr. drive time. Looks like the car is comin around looks good.

ill be there wednesday-friday next week then we will be at big river in edgington, im sure that monsanto will add more work for us yeah its close just alot of little stuff like the wiring oil pan not fitting right ect...
