I recently purchased a 10 f350 with a 6.4 looking to put a tuner in it for gas millage and performance... what tuners are you guys using and why? what are the pros and cons of each looking at a couple different edge ones. new to the diesel world

Had good luck with Banks. Reliability and OEM like tuning is a big pro, con is price and that you can't turn it way up like you could a SCT (i. e.; end user tuning/shop tuning).
A lot of guys use the SCT tuners but I'm not sure where they get them. Several performance shops buy the tuner from SCT and load them with their tunes before selling to you.
If it were me and a daily driver, I wouldn't go crazy.
Good luck. Jesse

Isn't there a fairly local diesel performance shop? I would recommend going to a shop and getting a tune from them. There is no replacement for a good tune from a local tuner. "Canned" tunes can only do so much. Give me a minute and I'll find it.

I vote Randall. They are a shop that Diesel Power (magazine) always uses for testing. Or Banks, OEM type tuning out of the box with lots of reliability and good power.

Ford specific tuning you need to call river city diesel in Peoria. The best by far for ford.

H&S and Spartan are the two best programmers you can get for the powerstroke.
