I dont know much about cams, but i do know i want a better one than stock. Ill be running a vortech 6.5 psi kit---so i want something that can compliment that. Anyone have any suggestions?
Also---What should i upgrade so i can push more boost safely? my internals are all new gm parts, the heads / intake are ported N. polished--and ive got a 52mm TB. thanx

I don't know if you want a custom cam, but ajschult just got a custom cam for his Lt1. He might be able to point you in the right direction. ~Nick

You should set up an account with camaroz28.com and send a message to SStrokerAce. His name is Bret Bauer and he specializes in custom cams. Brett designs cams to compliment Lloyd Elliot's head porting/rebuilding (www.eportworks.com). Do a search on Bret and Lloyd and you will see nothing but good said about both of their work.
You could go with an off the shelf cam that will cost around 250 or so, or get a custom cam that is specifically designed for your application for around 300. The cam I got is similar to the gm 847, but it starts making power around 500rpm sooner and has a flatter torque curve.

The LT1 cam is a decent blower cam. I wouldnt worry about it. If your looking for more power you can:
Improve the intake track to the blower Improve your exhaust Install RRs Buy a smaller blower pulley Get more aggressive with your tune

Roller Rockers Either make or buy a larger diameter intake pipe for the blower. For Mustangs Anderson Ford makes their Power Pipe as well as UPR. Many guys make their own intakes however.
