Finally starting to build my headers, picked up all the U bends for $140 from www.magnumforceracing.com . These will be 1.5" primary, equal length and over the tranny (it's a FWD car). After these are done i should have no problems breaking into the 13's.. that was my goal with the Z24. I know i could go faster but the car still gets 20 MPG and it's my daily driver... lol

If not, ebay has cheap ones... I need to find someone to weld and fab some stainless parts for me.... I would think you could get a cheap turbo and your almost there anyway..... Im sure we can find a used intercooler....

so that is just a mock up motor you have them on now? yah, here is the front one on the actual engine... www.magnumforceracing.com by far had the best prices on U or J bends, fast shipping and the owner is very friendly. I bought the collectors from www.ssheaders.com. Hopefully i'll get the time to finish these this week, i really wanna see how they make the engine run. I'm expecting an honest 20-30 HP gain from the manifolds i was using.... i had almost 1/4" of overlap on the ports... those old logs flowed terrible

Front is done, just needs to be welded... I wonder which one will flow better?

welp, got the rest of the front header done down to the ball flange... then the little bit of 2" pipe i had left went into the downpipe for the front one... I'll have to stop by an exhaust shop and see if they'll sell me a few feet of 2" pipe ;D Pics: Yes, i know the rear looks like hell.. i haven't cleaned up the welds yet since i'm not done... and here is my upper tranny mount... apparently i'm making a bit more power than it's made to handle... ;D

awesome stuff, but JC premiere concepts in port byron can do it for about the same price as the DIY stuff.

IIRC they're around $50.

Update: I finished all the fabrication, the downpipe/Ypipe is done finally... Installed: I know it looks like it's going at an odd angle but the rear header aims down a degree or so.. i had to compensate for that to get the collector to end up in the right spot... I should be finishing it all up in the morning and maybe getting a sound clip of it running.

no u need to weld em all the way around...lol, nice job BTW klemme haha... well it's all welded now, the collector is hooked into the rest of the exhaust. I fired it up for about 30 sec and holy crap.. It lopes pretty good at idle now... the ball flanges were only hand tight so they were leaking but overall it came together quite well. They'll get sandblasted, degreased and painted this week and hopefully i'll get to test them out on the road by Friday. ;D Just a word of advice, if any of you guys need an O2 bung, don't pay the crazy prices for one.. just go to the Autozone Help section and pick up a spark plug anti-fowler with the right threads... cut the end off and weld it in
