hey guys i have h-c-i and plenty of other mods on my current toy and its running...lets not say up to its standards for the mods done and i have a maf conversion on it beings its an 88 and the computer i have now is a a9p well i have had SEVERAL ppl. tell me to switch it to a a9L and it will run noticbly better...anyways i was browsing ebay for a a9l and seen a 3xz? from a 93 cobra what is this computer? worth 100.00 more then a a9l? it had the numbers 3xz where the normal a9l or a9p goes

A9L is a much better computer then a X3Z. Your A9P should work just fine, well at least as good as a A9L.

What are your options as far as actually tuning a chip yourselves? are the Ford computers eeprom based like the old GM ones, or flash like the newer OBD2?

Klemme I didn't even think about it last night, but if you wanted we can swap the ECU from my mustang to yours, to test things out and see if that is the issue.

The newer computers are flashable but the EEC IV requires a chip.
