I have just recently developed, quite possibly the most annoying noise I've ever heard emitted from a car. Its random, but when it starts, there is NO stopping it. If you have ever heard a hamster run in a wheel, then you know what this sounds like. Its a annoying squeak, like something rubbing back and forth, very audible, I will try and get a video if it soon. Its shit like this that makes me hate my car. Every time I turn around, it starts making another noise that makes it feel like a old turd.
ANY guesses on what this would/could be or how to fix it? I came home one night after it was making this noise, and when I closed the door ( car was off ) it made the noise from just the door closing. I went to the back of the car and kicked the passangerside pipe, and it make the noise again. IDK wtf it could be. I was under the car today and was banging around on shit to see if I could get it to make the noise, and it didn't... Shit like this pisses me off.

Go clean your engine... lol. Either that or fix my exhaust. I was trying to race a mid 90's z tonight and it started squeaking after I hit a bump and I felt like a douche. but then I won so that's cool.

don't you have a catback on there? I would willing to bet the over the axel pipe is hitting the rear-end. The mufflers twist even a little and that pipe will rest right on the rear. If I hit a bump that's where I would start

It could be the mileage of the car. Good luck, sometimes shit like that takes forever to find.

I am trying my best to keep the car from falling to old age. Theres no reason to let the car go to shit just b/c its older than the roads it drives on. Yea the cars got a borla, heres a video. This is the absolute worst its ever been, and I caught it on tape. Click here to see VideoI noticed that the tail pipe moves quite a bit, so I think its a hogged out hanger, a bitter sweet that I found the problem, now to fix it. I got a pretty full day tomorrow, I gotta go to the dentist early, then I have to go do some yard work at my step dads place since hes out of town, and then I gotta change the oil. While I'm doing that, if I have time I will check out the hanger. I'd love to use this as a chance to get the tips to hug the bumper just a bit more, they hang a bit low for my liking

That squeaking IS the hampster wheel under the hood. Just put some rubber bands around the ends of the stand and it'll be quiet again. haha j/k had to do it But yeah, that is pretty annoying. Sounds worse than a loose belt squealing. Looks like it pretty much has to be something to do with the hangers and/or some loose bolts. Might wanna retorque those things if it hasn't been done in a long time (or since the catback has been installed). Shouldn't take too long to do, and the hardest part of doing catback work is already done (getting it on the car), so repositioning the tips shouldn't take long at all. Definitely worth taking the time to do though. Face it, a mean sounding exhaust is cool and all, but if it looks like it's about to fall off the car, then that's not so cool. At least in my book it isn't

yea but you drive a mustang so your opinion is null and void.. lol j/k had to do it lol sorry, anyways, heres the culpret! Saggy mounts. when I push the muffler UPwards, to where the hangers are possitioned where they would be if the hangers were still good, the tips line up great! There ya go man. DAVE, YGPM!

Wow, yeah it sure is. Don't know how many hangers are on your car, but if the others look anything remotely near like that one, might as well replace those too while you're at it. I've got 6 on mine, and only one gave me a real good arm workout trying to get the thing on.
A nice new hanger mixed in with a bunch of old hangers might leave the tips on one side higher than the other, maybe?

got it fixed, a lot easier than I expected ( mechanical ventures usually turn out horribly for me lol ) Alright, so now I have the brake noise gone ( brand new brakes on all 4 corners sounded worse than the old ones, sounded like the indicators, but I used a spray on thing and they quieted right down... ) now I just need to replace a wheel bearing on the front driver side, and all of my unpleasant noises will be gone lol
