What is the best place to go that will support wideband logging? I'm not taking my car to IDC after what I've heard.
I need to check my air/fuel now that my car is custom tuned.
Anyone's input will be appreciated!

my buddys dad just had a truck tuned there after he had a crate motor installed and then a blower thrown on, he didnt have any problems. im curious as to what horror stories you have heard ,since i plan on going there in the future.

I've heard a bunch of inflated dyno numbers coming out of IDC from more than one person. I've heard their air/fuel capabilities are shitty as well.

They don't inflate numbers but there A/F readings show a point lean on average. To just dyno it's fine, there numbers are around 10hp off give or take with A/F readings, most I know (like 90%) have ended up around a point leaning at IDC when in reality its just fine.

I may have to get ahold of that company, my Father-in-law is looking to dyno his 06 Powerstroke before modding it for towing.

I actually lived down the road from hesse auto and truely I dont know if I would trust them...they seem more like backwater country boys with a cool toy than qualified professionals...also could just be more or less opinion but I dont know how many people take their car to a barn for tuning

try Illinois Dyno in Byron, IL. 523-9200. My neighbor tells me good things about them but I haven't heard anyone else talk about them.

I wouldnt be to worried about where the dyno is, 1) Out in the sticks they can dyno anytime, 2) You are using the dyno not having them tune for you, 3) I think he has done some pretty big pulling trucks not any cars but all he is doing is running the dyno. I have talked to hessauto and seems to be a nice guy, Illnois dynos a/f sniffer is off so I would be real careful..

I've got a day reserved there for the V6Z24 bash in a few weeks... hopefully they let us run our own cars. I know when my 355 has had enough, lol

I made the mistake of leaving my car overnight. They had some fun with it on the street and broke it. Then I had another motor let go at the track with their "safe" tune in it.

maybe the motor just couldnt take it, I know people that have gone with race cars out there including a high 8 second ride and if your motor has good parts I dont know how they could break it, unless they do something out of the ordinary, or it wasnt built right in the first place but taking it out on the street to beat it is unexceptable no matter who you are.

Why would you bring more work to someone when you blame them for what happened the first time?

I had to get a retune, anywhere else it would have been another $600 investment. Since they burned the original chip the retune was free. They mechanically over-revved the car the first time, it had nothing to do with their tuning prowess. The second time it was. In any case I had no idea because I didn't have a wideband at the time to check on their curves.
Since then I have retuned with Bob Kurgan and fixed their fuckups.

so if they over revved it the first time than did they have to fix it or what happened and the second time at the track what was there excuse for all of it

I didn't discover the over-rev until after it had left their shop and I had torn the motor down. When it happened they just waited until I called and informed me that my car had blown up. When I arrived at the shop it was parked half in the street and no one had made an attempt to do anything with it. When I had it out there for the second retune I mentioned that the problem was 6 severly bent push rods that could only be accounted for with an over-rev. They responded with looks of confusion.
The track incident was quite awhile after the retune and by then I had discounted them ever taking responsibility for a mistake and had started making arrangements with Bob Kurgan.
