My new back rims should be here this week, so I need to get the tires mounted on 'em. Recommend me a good place that won't scrape/gouge the shit out of the chrome when they put the tires on.
I've never had to mount tires on nice chrome rims before, just the usual stock steelies. So, the place I usually have it done only has metal cleets on their tire machine, so that's out of the question.
Thanks in advance! Dave

A guy at Winner's Circle told me that Collision Repair Center in E. Moline has all new tire mounting equipment that would not leave marks, I had mine mounted at Hughes Tire, 42nd and Kennedy in E. Mo. I didn't see any marks.

My father gets all of his rims done at the Garage in Rapids City, he has had good luck out there.
Has anyone had any low profile tires put on anything. I'll be lookng to have a new set put on next year.

Low profile tire suck to mount but with the right machine its cake! I have done crome rims up to 22" and have not have any scratches in them. I mount tire and dismount them for goodyear NW blvd.

CRC in East Moline has top notch equipment. Plus the technician there is good.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I suppose I'll give CRC a call today and make an appt for ASAP. Can't wait to get these wider meats on finally!! No more homemade slicks for me ;D Wait, were you serious? haha I remember going in there with my friend one time when he was getting new tires for his old beater. The dude seemed fairly fluent in English, but he seemed overly friendly. Almost expected him to grab my friend's hand and lead him to the rack of new tires. "Come here my friend, come here. I show you good deal on tires!" haha

You're probably right. "New" to other people maybe, but not brand new.
I don't even remember if it was Jose's come to think of it. There's who knows how many tire places like that over on my side of town it's not funny.

I had to do some 285/30/20 on a 20x11 inch rim. Dunlop Sp sport 9000, and the fronts were 255/30/20's. They were some nice rims, and expensive tires. Good luck on the tires. Jeremy
