How much nitrous have you been able to run through a stock LT1 before it comes apart? I'm in the process of adding gas and want to see what other people have gotten away with?

If you have the supporting fuel and other things. I think a 150-175 wouldnt be too bad sometimes.

I have a low fuel pressure switch wired into the relay incase I run into fuel supply problems.

Run a one step colder plug and shorten the gap on the plugs to 32-35thousandths. If you are going to run that kind of shot I recommend a can of torco fuel additive, if you are not going to pull timing.

I think I'm going to start with a 150shot see what happens? Maybe step up to a two stage see what those pistons can handle before rebuild.

I don't know of too many people who say they are STARTING with that big of a shot on a stock motor! You have bigger balls than I, Sir! Do you have a wideband?

damn....okay Ill chime in I went a full year of spraying a lot every weekend on a 150 shot on a 140k motor with a fuel pressure safety switch and did pretty well. Ran 11.60s like that and finally had enough rings butt together to take the lands of a few pistons. Did pretty well there. Put in a lower mileage 70k shortblock and got real greedy....because...well I can. Lemme tell you that a 225 shot with no timing retard on a bad fuel system will make a stock LT1 go 11.11 However it will soon decease....like in the next pass. Play with a 150 shot...it will last a while and not completely kill the engine. NO parts were left to work with after the 225 shot

Is that the engine that looked like it shit an oily/piston/rod/crank substance all over itself?

NO parts were left to work with after the 225 shot Dood, that was sooo cool. At least you had the balls to try it. What ever happened to the vidio? The music with it was hilarious. "Eeeeevrybody hurts..................sometimes........" ;D

I don't know what you're going for, but a 75 shot ran pretty good on my car... 150 is living a little on the wildside for a high mileage motor.

I say live hard or go home...but keep it at a 150 shot. Dual stage the bitch with proper supporting fuel mods and I bet it will at a 250 shot level...for awhile.

Well I got datalogging software for the laptop now. So i will be able to record timing, fuel curves and everything else for playback to make sure the kit is jetted right and to make sure I'm not getting in knock etc.

That was on the 150 pill correct. I would say there is a lot left in it. You sould have at least 350-375 rwhp on a 150 shot. That should get a 114-116 trap and a low 12 high 11 as well. What trans is in the car. If its the 4L60E you may want to think about exactly how good a shape its in.

Yes it's a 4L60E. I was leaving the line decent but when the nitrous hit I would blow the BFG Comp TA's away. Ran a 12.61 with the car sideways at about 200 to 300 foot area. It felt good. Just came home with a set of Mickey Thompson ET's. Give them a try next week. The dynotune jet is small in comparison to the nitrous express jet size. 57 verses 62??
