A buddy of mine had his installed at Sexton and they did a very good job. He has had no issues at all and there is no gear whine.
He used the FRPP 4.10 ring & pinion kit with a complete rebuild kit to go along with it (all new gaskets and bearings). I think he paid $300-400 in labor but the work was very good.

my buddy James at Mike's Automotive in Moline installed gears in my 98 Mustang and I had no problems at all with the gears.

I would suggest paying a little extra money and having the gear install done by a place that will warranty the labor.
Improperly installed gears can lead to rear end failure over the course of time. That is an expensive problem to have so it's best to take measures to avoid it when possible.

I agree with the above. Although changing gears isn't all that hard, the assurance of a warranty will be something you wont regret. I notice someone mentioned Mikes automotive, I wouldn't say that is a bad place to go. I have dealt with just about everyone there, adn they are all very professional.

You dont need a warranty if the person installing them knows what they are doing! 300 to 400 dollars labor for a gear install, I would rather eat a gun!

I didn't see anyone say Mike's would cost 300-400. Call them for a quote. They just moved to a new shop too, super clean. I've dealt with just about everyone there, and they are all quite knowledgeable. If you dont want to go to them, just call local shops till you find someone who you want to deal with, that has a price you can afford.

I forgot to mention Campbell Drivetrain in Davenport. That place used to be Gear Specialists. I took my car there once to have my rear end looked at. I would give them a call and see what their quote is as well.

Yeah Mike's does charge a little bit for labor but is one of the best around. I like to go there cause I have been friends with James since way back in the day of cruising the avenue without cops patroling it. One of the only people I trust with my cars they do great work down there.
