I do my own headwork but let the machine shop do the valve jobs. It's not too expencive. Is the engine going to be N/A or boosted? For the cam... i just ordered a solid core from the 60degreev6 store to get reground to my specs, cam is $188 and it's like $85 for a regrind from www.deltacam.com. you'll need custom length pushrods but that's easy. You can get ported heads from Ben as well.. 60degreev6.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=54

wait, so you have a 3.1 GTZ? Why waste your time with the 3.1?
Its an outdated platform. From cams/head work you might get what, 30hp tops? Dont waste your time and find a lower mileage 3400 for less than you can get the cams for. Your going to get 50hp gain with just the swap, and also an aftermarket 10x more extensive than the 3.1.
Nice Beretta though, I used to have a pretty clean one myself. If you ever need some parts, I still have an assload left!
