I know this topic has been done before, but I am too lazy to search the archives. A friend of mine is looking to buy a longblock 350/355 for his 79 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4. Which machine shops have complete longblocks assembled and for sale with core exchange? He's not looking for anything special (stock heads, little cam) and won't want to spend more than 2k on a longblock cause he's in college. He's asked me about Gustaf's, and I told him what I read on these boards but they seem to be the only shop in his price range. Any help would be appreciated.

Gustoff sucks, he sold me a machined block ready to go that needed line honed then told me to stick the crank in and if it spins free it's okay. He also told me no one in the qca could line bore a engine. Furthermore At the show today a show car was trying to move out after the show and I asked nicely if We could roll the engine inf front of gustoffs booth over a bit (it was on wheels) and he told me he would move it when he was ready and then sat there and watched the guy try to move his car with his thumb up his ass. Gustoff is a fuck face and shitty person I hope he trips and falls.
