Notice the slip on the left has a better 60' but slower mph. BOTTLE PRESSURE BOTTLE PRESSURE!! The slip on the left could have been a 12.0 or 12.1.
It was a bad day for some people running nitrous. Two backfires and one hood blew off a mustang.

Did you have the nitrous on a window switch? Were you using a bottle heater? After I saw you I was almost afraid to stage again. But I did. I was standing by the burnout area when you blew?

actually when your 60 foot times go down so will the mph When the sixty foot times go down you are actually going faster so the et should be quicker. The mph was lower do to running rich because of low bottle pressure

it was on a WOT switch and i had bottle warmer on it i had the pressure around 1000psi..... i never had that shot before on my car it was way to rich on the fuel side jet which cause it to bogged off the line and bam it was all over with

If you dont mind what size jets did you have in. My car doesn't have a window switch yet. So I was just holding it at 2000 rpm with an auto then wide open. I just worry about hitting the nitrous below 2500 to 3000

Yea man I was running the orange mustang when it blew, I launched and heard a loud metalic clack and thought it was my rear so I got out of the throttle, looked over and seen a hood hit the ground, so I got back into it, your the reason I got a 14.5 @ 104.75 haha
Sucks man, hope theres no internal damage.

Well, I finally made it in the 10's barely. The timeslip is hard to read but I cut a .081 60 ft , a 1.63 60 ft and went 10.93 at 127. something. I was on drag radials and no shift light with 600 psi bottle pressure and I had it jetted for 100 shot but I don't know how that works when I only have 600 psi. Anyway, I am tearing it apart this winter to go 9's in the spring and drive it home from the track, I hope.

yea nitrous backfires are pretty cool, its amazing what a little bit of that shit and fuel can do if improperly used. the worst thing about it is what do i tell insurance?

Well, first pass I was spinning, so I was in it, then out of it, then in it, then out of it! Then hit the limiter on two shifts 'cause I was so flustered! Stayed in it and the car pulled like it never had before on the big end! Went 83 mph in the 1/8 due to my awesome display of driving, but hit almost 118 by the 1/4... gained 35 mph in the last 1/8! WTF?!
Second pass: got to the staging lanes and noticed my Predator was shutting off as I started and shut off my car as I pulled forward through the lanes, and my gauges were acting funny. Even my starter sounded weird. Well, hazed the tires in second and ran a 12-teen at 120.3, but had hit 100.17 in the 1/8? Well, found out why the weird stuff was happening next time in the staging lanes... my battery was dying! I guess running my IC pump and bottle warmer while cooling off was taking it's toll! DOH! While getting pushed backwards out of the staging lanes, I pop started it and called it a day. No sense having my voltage get low and run lean! Figure that may be why it fell on it's face on the big end on the previous run.
Guess my 11.71@125.3 will have to stand as my best thus far. Still not sure why my car doesn't MPH quite as well as it should. I have gone a best of 102 in the 1/8 and most Cobras with combos like mine gain 25-30 mph on the big end. I don't powershift, so that may be part of it, and part of my relatively slow ET, too. The 60' on that run was 1.9+, so that doesn't help the ET situation, either!
Maybe weather permitting I'll go next weekend on my non-N2O tune, 'cause it almost acts like it doesn't spray for the whole 1/4 mile any way.

Nate: that sucks about your car. Did you get any N2O passes in? Sounds like you had a surprise for me had we had our "rematch!" Hope the damage isn't too bad.

only got one run in that day and ran a 12 teen @124 with a 2.2 60', yea need to heat those BFG's up a little more. Running a 150 shot with tired plugs and the bottle somwhere around 1400psi (little high). it hooked pretty good the second time and pulled real good up to 5300 rpm and then BOOM! all hell broke loose. pretty much just blew the intake into peices and pulled most of the injectors out, thats were the fire came from, burnt some wires and made the hood look pretty cool!! all in all i had a blast!!! cant wait till next year. yea Jay looks like are "rematch" will have to wait. sorry about your luck with the battery

Still not sure why my car doesn't MPH quite as well as it should. C'mon Jay Terminators only run what they should on SVTPerformance.

A younger guy there Sat. in a white Cobra with a similar combo to mine minus the nitrous ran an 11.7 at almost 123. I'm not denying my driving skills are lacking and that may be a big part of it... I just think it could do a little better.

Jay if would like I will race it this weekend. I appreciate the offer, but if I can't do it in my own car, that's my problem and the way it's gonna be. I don't want to say, "Well, I ran this, but the car can run THIS!" Know what I mean? I could probably do better with more practice, but I literally baby the thing around town 99% of the time. What can I say... I'm OLD!

You need power shifting lessons Jay, one of these days we'll take the t/a out and beat the fuck out of it for a few hours, she likes when I do that to her...
