Just wonderin what your roads are like out there, that you guys get down on.. do you prep... are they in the city... rural... pics would be great... Couple of my buddis and I are gonna make the trip down there a few times this year if its decent.. Looking for some decent money races. nothing major.... 50-500.... could go more if needed... you guys got n e pics of your roads.. post em up

yes we prep IMO it hooks better then cordova new concrete not quiet 1320 more like 1000 but very nice ( plenty long enough ) usually no trouble ide rather not say the location but when you guys want to come down in the spring we can set some thing up I also cant wait you guys got some very nice cars!! hrmmm 1000 ft... our ls1 car isnt gonna like that... my stang however might  .... how is the police presence in the area.. i obvouslt understand tyou not wanting to post spots... same way up here as well. Those pics it looks like one side is prepped really well and the other side is not. |

Its a divided road, they race one car going the wrong way. There is no traffic on that road as its a dead-end. The other doesn't get prepped, but people are more than welcome to start.
Its more than a 1/4, but it just feels like its not as part of the shut down is a gentle curve.

thats cool sounds like a decent set up.. is it good for fast cars...... like if we brought a fast car not a 12-11 sec car.. how long is the shut down.

Anybody trapping high 120s might want to make sure that their brakes are working good. Faster than high 130s I dunno might be kind of scary. Of course it will probably be over quick with a car that fast.

Yeah, normally one side gets prepped (as no one else ever brings there own stuff to prep the other side) as you can see one side has pretty much only 2 tire marks (as that's where cars going in that lane ONLY launch from) and the other side has marks all over the place. It's a 1/4 mile, and yeah part of the shut down is a slight curve, nothing horrible but it's noticeable. There's plenty of road and safeness to "get down" we've been there for almost 3 hours straight before racing and had no problems. It's very secluded so we don't get bothered. road looks nice but it would have to be a full 1320 ft with a shut down long enough for my car to safely stop or we'll have to pick some random country road.

or... you could go to Cordova. Thats about as good as it gets around here as far as starting from a stop there badss (without being bothered by cops and having a prepped lane).

We will probably come out and check out the road before we bring any cars out. Has anyone measured it out accuratly?

You can always request No Times, and they won't display anything. Alot of Chi-town guys request this. Congrats to Rev Hard on Sponsoring the Friday Fun Nights, and the Mayhem races. You guys planning on changing anything with the Mayhem? If you want you could stage with your back tires. That would be the only way to spot out cars ;D Usually they only let that happen when they're tired of telling/showing somebody how to stage  |

As tempting as racing at the other "track" (the one i talked about) It just seems more worth it to race at the track. This way no one side is better prepped just all out racing. I may be even willing to spot you a few if they allow it (can't remember but I am sure they could accomodate)

I thought that you guys were gonna be cool no one ever said that they would race you for money but I would be more then happy to race you at our track and so would alot of other people around here don't let a couple people ruin it for every one else

There are plenty of people who will throw down on the street down here. I cant garantee a $$ race but there are people who will race on the street.

I guess I missed out on where the QCAAF is just a street racing forum. I read it as an automotive forum, based on an area, namely the Quad Cities. Not everyone here is just here for street racing. Some of us like to get together and talk, go to some car shows/ cruises or just get together and drive around. Don't get me wrong, I like fast cars, and it has been a few years since I had anything remotely fast, but its not all that matters. I'll line my Impala up against anyones car to see who's can hop up and down the fastest...lol...but who cares, we are made up of a group of enthusiasts, each with his/ her own interests in the hobby. BTW, anyone who wants to line up against a thirdgen Camaro with a 305 Naturally aspirated, sporting a .400 lift cam can bring it if they have something "comparable" to race Later |
