Shoot, I'll be out of town. I took my little race car out there last fall. I haven't even got it running yet this year :-( I really need to get that worked on and get out to another one.

I was there today, but made it too late to tech in, so I just watched. Would have enjoyed running that course today. And yeah, the RX-7 was fucking insane.

;)Tim really put the Mustang throught the paces today.
And when the guys at Tech looked at it they had no clue what class to put it in.

They're good guys, but with an essentially stock WRX with a few suspension upgrades, they were stumped as to where to put me. I told them just put me in street modified and they were all "that may put you a serious disadvantage". I told them I was there to have fun and compete in a friendly way, not to be ultra competitive so there was no fear of me bitching and whining I was put in a race-prep'd class.

I came out and watched for a bit and might have to give it a try next event, or get completely lost in the cones.

;D It was a fun day and it is cool that you can take a passenger, as long as they are atleast 13 years old.
My kid thought it was the best thing ever and keeps telling me when he gets his license he wants to drive.
My wife even said she may give it a try after getting to ride along in the Viper.
A couple of other things that were awsome was being able to race in shorts and with the windows down. We told some of the auto cross guys about drag racing and they wondered how the windows would protect you.

I had been told one of the issues with the windows was the garbage that tends to fly out of street cars (serious) at the big end of the track with the windows down. End up with track employee's out there picking up empty taco bell cups, etc every few rounds or risking getting something under the tire of a fast car.

The SCCA was definitely much more serious when it came to checking the car over in tech than at Cordova and one of the areas that they checked was to see if you had anything loose in the car.
