Conor came over tonight and helped me get the Bugeye Sprite up and running. A few test laps around the block went well so we are planning on heading out. I have not had the car running since the Autocross at the Davenport Airport last fall :-(
Lucky (Conor) will be out there in his orange GTO I'll be out there in my orange '59 sprite unless the weather is really shitty (no windshield or top), then I'll bring the BMW.

Are we taking bets on how long it takes Stick to break the Sprite? ;D

Had a blast today again at the Autocross. Spent most of the time haniging out with Pete, Stick and the Irish Dude (Conor). It was good to meet you guys, and Gage and I look forword to doing it again. Jessie glad you came out to see what it is all about. Get that RX7 together so you can come out and play.

Yeah, was a cool day. Editing some video's Pete and I took with our HD Motorsports camera. Got a bumper cam one from my first run in the WRX.

I had a great time. Props to Conor for taking video. The video on my sprite came out so good I just ordered a GoPro for myself.

It's was nice to meet all of you (Shep, stick, and lucky). Autox is always good times, or slow times. I'm waiting for video's of my runs. Intrested to see the one where I pacman'd the end, and had a cone stuck, melting to my exhaust.

Mighty nice of you to get shots of a couple other QCAAF members out on the track while you were having your cone debacle :-)

I am planning to hit the labor day Autocross on 9/6 if anyone else wants to make that one. I'm going to try and get the sprite a bit more set up and shave a few seconds to get in with the faster cars.
To do's - Fix the distributor and tune the engine properly because sadly that loping idle was NOT due to a fancy cam... - Transmission swap to a spare that hopefully has 4 good gears. The one I was running pops out of 1st gear as seen in the video and it is most annoying. - Swap in one of the welded differentials so I can power out of corners. - And last but certainly not least, get some good rubber that will pass tech because those street tires were atrocious.
;D

I'm gonna try and make all of the rest of them for this year, so I'll likely see you out there. I meant to come talk to you guys, but I was in group 2, so I was out doing course work while you were driving, and then had to hurry over and grab the camera from Pete (Gray Evo) and try and get it set up on my WRX before I hit the track.
I forgot to grab my camera, as I generally bring it and take snap shots of all the cars racing that day. I got most of them from the 4th of July one, but didn't get any shots this time obviously.

That camera was a great buy. Maybe try a helmet view next time out.

Yeah, I was gonna hit up amazon and see if there were any different mounting things to try that might be better. I know they have a strap version for the camera to mount on the helmet, and some other stuff. Something to look into though.

Great videos guys, though it kinda looks like it was a confusing course with no cones near the middle of the track.
Wish I could have made it but already had plans to be at a show in Roanoke. Hopefully I can make the next event on the 15th.

I know they have a strap version for the camera to mount on the helmet, and some other stuff. Something to look into though. Believe it or not, the suction cup can work on a helmet. We were testing it at my house and you could stick it on the side of the helmet, then swing the helmet around like a windmill holding onto the camera part and it didn't budge at all. That little suction cup is amazing, even on curved surfaces. It felt secure enough to put on there for the bike (that is what we were testing for) I would have no qualms at all using it in a car where even if it does fall, it won't hurt anything.
