Finally broke down and couldnt take driving these hondas everyday anymore! Started the day at sexton ford... which ended up being a waste of time. 45 min to find someone that wanted to sell me a car and another 3.5 hours for them to really get into the dealing with numbers. I was wanting to buy this 2012 Silver Ecoboost F150 in there lot. after not coming to terms over a $2000 difference i walked.... hopeing theyd call me back before i got in the car to leave. BUT they didnt. Thats ok though Reynolds Ford had been blowing me up all day about coming down to check out there selection of Ecoboosts. I knew i wanted a FX4 if i was going to spend the money. And I knew i wanted the Ecoboost motor. ... Reynolds ended up having this niiiiiiice Black edition of the FX4 Ecoboost. I took one look and knew it was the one. The all black look of the truck is so sick and theres not one option the truck doesnt have. The salesman was much more down to earth and negotiations took only about 25 30 minutes compared to sextons all day event. I am shocked how smooth driving and shifting this truck is. I usually hate the typical f150 "shift"... seems like my 05 roush f150 and any other ive driven shifts gears constantly more than id want it to...if that makes any sense. Im really happy with this one although im only at 42 miles! I think all it really needs is some darker tint all the way around and possibly a more aggressive looking tire. Its rated at 15city and 22 highway. I got 14 driving around town today the display says. At the end of the day Reynolds ford was a great expeirence in buying a new vehicle. Sexton on the other hand I plan to stay away from. Here she is: im obviously a little over excited im back in a nice truck

Very nice. The new F150's are great trucks. I love the red accents in the interior.

Nice truck Scott! I really liked Ryans Eco-boost after giving it a once over but I just wasn't in the market for a "light duty" truck. I bet when the tuning gets good for they will they will be pretty quick too!

They have tuning for those yet? I'm guessing they see pretty good gains.

IMO... A 2011 dmax deff does not need a tune, if you enjoy your drivers license.

Very nice truck man, I sold trucks at Courtesy Ford for a few months while I was finishing up school. The EcoBoosts are one hell of a motor. I sold my father in law a 2013 FX4 with the Appearance package. But it's ruby red with black trim and HID headlights which was a HUGE improvement on Fords part to install HIDS.

yeah there are some places messing with tuning them. Ive watched a few youtube videos on them thats about it. Its very tempting. he mentioned that they can tell if you have messed with the tuning and it voids the warranty. that was right after they came out so not sure if they've fiured a way around by now. I'll be tuning them soon! Working on figuring them out right now.... They are way wierd (Ecoboost calibrations). Figuring out the way the VE Tables (Thats right two main VE Tables) work. They use the same axis we are all used to with one more vector. So basically it's set up as a intercept with the Z axis and this new vector. Trying to find which axis is rising and which axis is falling and then plot by hand where they should be meeting so I can accurately portray what "Commanded" VE actually is. That is just the start of it though. The "Hardest part". There are a ton of things you need to adjust on a ecoboost to get what you are looking for. Everything turbo related is adjustable and has a sensor. It's amazing how many inputs the Ecoboost systems have. Talk about a headache. P.S. - It is true about they can tell if you've tuned it. Or at least have indicators now. Even so, they have to prove the tune directly caused a failure in order to not warranty it or you can go after them. Basically they can see how many times the ECU has been flashed. If it's been flashed more than verified updates at the dealer than they can fairly accurately assume there is a aftermarket calibration in place.
