The car has been done for a year but I drove it all last year with a take out 5.0 that I got used with the top end replaced. Hopefully I will be ready to go soon. Waiting on heads right now. Edelbrock e-205's being gone through and ported. fully forged, 10.8:1 dart block 363 cu in, 205cc heads, victor jr., 750 dp. 0.600" lift, 300 deg duration, 110 degree lobe separation advanced 4 degrees. Hopefully this will push my little 2300 lbs car down the road Attachments:

Here is a picture of the car. It took me 2 1/2 years to build, just didn't have the coin at the time to do the engine. I hope I can get it ready for spring. Attachments:

I was hoping that the heads would show up today since I am off for the next 4 days due to the coming snow (not to much concrete going to be poured the next few days). That would have given me something to do in the garage besides just getting out the snow blower My new 4 into 4 BBK's showed up but no heads to bolt them to, DAMN!

i think anybody would love to have an AC Cobra. i bet this thing flat out flies when done i always wondered what the real cost of a Factory Five Cobra would cost to build minus driveline +1 It flat out flew with 300-325 HP Can't even imagine what it is going to be like with 500+ HP. As far as cost it all depends on how you build it and what you do to it. I went to Birmingham Alabama and brought home an un-started kit. It was a base kit not the full kit but he had a lot of parts from several donors. The rear end was from a 94 Mustang so in order to run 315-35's it needed to be fox width which required new (Yukon) axles and new caliper brackets. I also bought new calipers and rotors. I got a set of PBR front calipers with the kit, I rebuilt them and bought new Hawk pads and rotors I was able to use the pedal box after some modifications, the engine and the trans, although I had to replace the trans before there were 50 miles on the car. Other than That everything was new. I used Autometer Cobra Gauges, wasn't really happy with the look of the street dash so I had a forum vendor in Colorado cut me a Comp. dash laid out for my switches and gauges and then I veneered it, Didn't really want a vinyl covered dash. I added a heater and I heated the seats. I also added fresh air vents with blowers to the footboxes. I had the dash cut for a glove box and added that also. The kit basic kit comes standard for the 4 link Mustang suspension. My car has the FFR 3 link as well as their tubular lower front control arms. I added a Flaming River manual rack instead of the de-powered Mustang rack. I also added a Passenger roll bar to protect my precious cargo. I used a Ron Francis harness and installed an amp in the trunk with an IPod hook up and speakers. I know that there are several other options that I added but they are small like power points and cockpit lights. I also did all of the body work and with the cost of the paint I was around $26k. However once my engine is done and I upgrade my trans to handle the torque obviously it will be much closer to $40k. but you can build one for <$25 if you want to.

Once it has 500+ HP and weighs less than 2300 lbs who really cares what it cost?

I don't have a picture of the dash in the finished car but here is one while I was building. The Trans Am dash looks ok but I frefer the wood. Attachments:

i see them advertise kits for this and that of their models but figure like anything they end up costing more. $25K for a basic car isn't bad at all for such a pimp ride I think a complete kit is about $20k, you need the driveline, tires, wheels, bodywork and paint. You can easily spend $10k on paint and body work, $2k on tires and wheels and you still need a driveline. So I'm pretty happy to come in where I did. When you buy your kit from someone who is in over there head you can get a much better deal. But If you have the cash and don't want to do the work there is always Superformance.

Heads finally came yesterday, I got them on and measured for pushrods. I wish I had taken pictures before I installed them. Can't believe those valves even fit in a 302 heads combustion chamber. Installed the intake (Victor Jr.) when I got home from work today, will post pics. soon. On the Factory Five Forum we always say, no pics, never happened.
