Yes I did go WOT but I never take it over 6 grand. 170k kinda scares me and plus I don't know what the previous owner did to it.  I do need a boost leak tester. But I just haven't gotten around to getting one yet. MODS: 3" SS down pipe with 3" Cat. 2.5 from there to the end. K&N, MBC. FWD I have ran into you before spoolin. SRT-4 with black stripes and black stock rims? Pretty sick car.  Thats Clarks old car isnt it?? |

Could you fill me in on what he did to it? I know he had gauges and a stereo. I think he had this think tricked out.

Get some DRs and race like a man. Meh, I didn't buy the car to be a racecar, and I sure as hell dont want to be replacing a gearbox. DR's aren't really cost effective right now anyway. Even with them, it doesn't take away the boost limiter. I'll just keep to my soft launches, I'd rather just enjoy it for another 200,000. |

Im not gonne be that fast yet....Its all OEM parts in my car. Mainly just wanna get it running. I drove the car 4 miles so far since owning it.

Its not hard to tell what someone did or didnt have in a car once you get your hands on it.
Plus the fact that people mention it prolly helps that notion.
But with my car even....I know the previous driver had more in it than Ill ever know. When your randomly missing bolts that would never come loose on their own, and things are just out of place, its easy to tell..........

^^ Ya, my tranny mounts were loose....One of them missing two bolts actually.
Plus my tranny was only bolted on with like two bolts, which is why it snapped the drive plate.....
Lets see, my BOV vacuum tube was gone, egr wasnt hooked up, just sitting and creating leaks, exaust mani bolts were not right, o2 bolt was missing, alternator wasnt hooked up, cruise control moved......
My car was an easy call for being previously touched.

Hey clark! This is erik, the 2nd owner of the Laser.
We got that notion, both ed and I, that things had been messed with. in the 2 weeks or so that i owned the car i found several things that were out of place.
Im not going to be a dick. But:
1) the radio was shot. You never told me that when i test drove the car. also, all the speakers are blown. and damn that system sounded good on the test drive!
2)The downpipe was COMPLETLY loose. i could move the pipe and gasket freely. it wasnt bolted up to the exhaust manifold at all. I slid the gasket around inbetween the manifold and downpipe with my pointer finger.
3) A boost controller was found. not the factory one.
4) The vacumer lines were all messed up.
I am sure ed knows a lot more then me. These were just the obvious.
I am not being a dick. you sold that car dishonestly. you took advantage of a kid who at the time knew jack shit about dsm's.
Things were missing and changed that just couldn't be changed on there own. Vibrations from driving the car will not cause a bolt from the exhaust manifold to be missing. Or the mani's to be cracked.
Ed, if i forgot anything, feel free to chime in.
Being honest when selling a car is very important. Builds a good reputation, good character.

Sounds like the guy that sold the car to ya got the best of ya.
Sucks that you can't take legal action, since he sold you a good car that he turned into a lemon.(Cause he couldn't fix his problems)
