Yeah, normally one side gets prepped (as no one else ever brings there own stuff to prep the other side) as you can see one side has pretty much only 2 tire marks (as that's where cars going in that lane ONLY launch from) and the other side has marks all over the place. It's a 1/4 mile, and yeah part of the shut down is a slight curve, nothing horrible but it's noticeable. There's plenty of road and safeness to "get down" we've been there for almost 3 hours straight before racing and had no problems. It's very secluded so we don't get bothered. There's a vid at the bottom of the pics to give you an idea what it looks like fully. Just wonderin what your roads are like out there, that you guys get down on.. do you prep... are they in the city... rural... pics would be great... Couple of my buddis and I are gonna make the trip down there a few times this year if its decent.. Cozad, that is all basically implied with a "cam only" ls1 in the fbody world. What it means is that thers no other motor work (stroker/ported heads, or nitrous or the other fasion) everyone has those mods. You have to expect it. Anyways someone needs to close this thread and wait for these clowns to come down so theres no more arguments.

All it does is give me the Motivation to go out in the garage and stick the transmission back in my car since i got the bellhousing for it. It just makes me wanna go faster and feeds the Need For Speed! So I thank you Rockford guys, I don't know where this Forum would be today if we didn't get the occasional flam war from Cedar Rapids, You guys, and various other Flame wars that have gone on. OK, so I dont have to go back and read all of those pages can someone give my a short story of what is going on?? I seen $$$ races!!!! Rockford guys got on here and asked if we had a good road to get down on. We showed pics, videos etc... They asked for some money races and said they would NOT race at the track, only on the street as there cars were "built for the street ONLY"  We got called some "pig fuckers" because some of us PREFER to race at the track. We were then told we were "not in their league" I offered (as well as some others) to race for some big cash, then they say "were not single digit cars here and will have to pass" on my car because it will be a single digit car. I know that I have seen quite a few "cam only" LS1 cars in the bottom 10's, just because your "cam only" doesn't mean the pistons haven't been notched along with some HEAVY springs and one NASTY huge cam (and pretty much ALL bolt-ons minus heads/FAST/LS6 intake). I will have the car out before April and it will be tuned and ready. I decided to hold off on the turbo as it will scare more people away then I'd like (not trying to sound like a hardass but most know that a 408/turbo/auto car setup right is good for mid to bottom 8's, so I would see the unfairness there) It will still be the 408 with a auto/trans brake but just a "small" shot instead. At least until I decide the direction I want to go with tuning (F.A.S.T., A.E.M. , etc...) and if I am going to decide to stop driving it on the street completely. Would this be doable??? |
